In this article, we describe different use cases that are compatible with Single.Earth land management platform and also highlights the current limitations.
Scenarios we currently support:
✔️ You are a private individual, and your land is privately owned. (Both same person)
✔️ You are a private individual and your land is owned by a business
Scenarios we currently do not support:
✖️ You are a private individual, and your land is privately owned. (Land is owned by a different person, father, wife, etc.)
This setup is currently not yet supported. If the land is owned by a different person like a family member or a business partner, that person should sign up with Single.Earth
✖️ You are a business and your land is owned by a private person
This setup is currently not yet supported. If the land is owned by a private person and you do not have a renting agreement or a contract of land exploration rights you will need to ask the private person to sign up themselves via Single.Earth website. If you have the necessary exploration rights, please sign up as a landowner and provide us with documentation proof.
✖️ The land is co-owned by multiple parties.
We can currently onboard lands that are in sole ownership
We are working towards making additional scenarios available soon.
Which countries are currently supported?
In the initial launch phase, we can onboard landowners from European Economic Area (EEA) only, but we are working towards making our solution available worldwide. This is tied to the current regulatory limitations and licenses.

Limitations to land type and size.
We are currently onboarding lands with at least 3 hectares of mature forest. We are using remote sensing technology to detect the actual forest cover eligible for generating the MERIT tokens.
During the official assessment, we also perform a risk and impact assessment of the lands, allowing us to identify, prioritize, and onboard ecologically valuable forests under high risk of destruction.
